چکیده

The positional clustering of co-expressed genes is common in prokaryotes (operons) and was recently described in several eukaryote organisms [1-4]. Clusters of highly expressed genes were recently revealed in the Human genome [5] and complementary study [6] suggested that such clusters might mostly consist of housekeeping genes and not of genes with similar tissue expression profiles. In order to specifically analyze tissue specific expression, other studies [7-9] were based on sets of genes expressed in a given tissue. They suggest that clusters of tissue specific genes do exist, and might be more frequent than initially thought.

Gene Regulation Network Based Analysis Associated with TGF-beta Stimulation in Lung Adenocarcinoma Cells

Background: Transforming growth factor (TGF)-β is over-expressed in a wide variety of cancers such as lung adenocarcinoma. TGF-β plays a major role in cancer progression through regulating cancer cell proliferation and remodeling of the tumor micro-environment. However, it is still a great challenge to explain the phenotypic effects caused by TGF-β stimulation and the effect of TGF-β stimulatio...

In silico identification of miRNAs and their target genes and analysis of gene co-expression network in saffron (Crocus sativus L.) stigma

As an aromatic and colorful plant of substantive taste, saffron (Crocus sativus L.) owes such properties of matter to growing class of the secondary metabolites derived from the carotenoids, apocarotenoids. Regarding the critical role of microRNAs in secondary metabolic synthesis and the limited number of identified miRNAs in C. sativus, on the other hand, one may see the point how the characte...

P-215: Discovery of A Novel APA Variant of A Human Potential Gene Based on Expressed Sequenced Tags Analysis

Background: Expressed sequence tags (ESTs) are sequences of cDNA fragments prepared from different tissue sources. There are over one million of these sequences in the publicly available database, and these sequences are believed to represent more than half of all human genes. The ESTs belong to different cDNA libraries, was prepared from one particular cell type, organ, or tumor. Therefore, th...

In silico screening for tumour-specific expressed sequences in human genome.

A computer-based differential display tool named HsAnalyst has been developed and successfully used for the comparison of expression patterns in a set of tumours versus a set of normal tissues. A list of EST clusters highly represented in tumours and rarely observed in normal tissues has been developed as a resulting output file of the program. These differentially expressed EST clusters (genes...

An Empirical Bayesian Method for Detecting Differentially Expressed Genes Using EST Data

Detection of differentially expressed genes from expressed sequence tags (ESTs) data has received much attention. An empirical Bayesian method is introduced in which gene expression patterns are estimated and used to define detection statistics. Significantly differentially expressed genes can be declared given detection statistics. Simulation is done to evaluate the performance of proposed met...
